Frequently Asked Questions

Everything about using TempMail.cc, the free temporary and disposable email service.

What is a temporary email address?

A temporary (disposable) email address is a short-lived inbox that you can use instead of your real email when signing up for services, downloading files, or testing applications. It protects your personal inbox from spam, phishing, and unwanted marketing — and from services that sell your address to advertisers.

Is TempMail.cc free?

Yes, TempMail.cc is completely free. No registration, password, or personal information is required — a disposable address is generated the moment you open the page, and you can change it or set a custom one at any time.

How long do emails stay?

Emails arrive in real time and are automatically and permanently deleted when you reload the page or your session expires. There is no archive — if you need a code or link from an email, copy it before reloading.

Can I send emails from a temporary address?

No. TempMail.cc is a receive-only service. You can receive and read messages in real time, but sending is not supported.

Can I receive attachments?

No. Attachments are disabled for safety reasons. Only plain text and HTML messages are supported.

Can I choose a custom email address?

Yes. Click the edit button next to your address to set any available custom name, or click the refresh button to get a new random one. Custom names are first-come, first-served and not password protected — anyone who knows the name can read that mailbox.

Is a temporary inbox private?

Temporary inboxes are public by nature: anyone who knows the address can read its live mail. Never use TempMail.cc for confidential communications, sensitive accounts, or password recovery. For those, use a real email provider.

Why am I not receiving emails?

  • Check that you sent the message to the exact address shown on the home page;
  • Keep the page open — the inbox is live only while the session is active;
  • Only text and HTML messages are accepted; some very large messages are rejected;
  • Some services deliberately block disposable email domains — if so, the mail never reaches us.

Do I need to register or provide personal data?

No. There are no accounts and no personal data is collected. See our Privacy Policy for details on what little data the service touches.

Can I use a temporary email for account sign-ups?

Yes, for low-risk sign-ups like newsletters, downloads, free trials, or testing your own applications. Because the inbox disappears when you reload the page, never use it for accounts you may need to recover later.

Does TempMail.cc work on mobile?

Yes. The site is fully responsive and works in any modern mobile or desktop browser — no app installation required.

How do I report abuse?

Send an email to [email protected] with details of the abuse. We read and act on every report.
